More than 200 people showed up for the James Beard Public Market Potato Party at The Heathman Hotel in downtown Portland. Featured Oregon Potato Farmer - Meet Cody Fazio!
Oregon Potato Commission's featured farmer is Cody Fazio. Here's his statement introducing himself and telling the OPC a bit about his farm: " My name is Cody Fazio. I'm a fourth generation potato farmer with my two brothers. We farm on Sauvie Island, which is 20 minutes from downtown Portland. My great grandfather started the farm out here in 1948. The Potato is the First Official State Vegetable!

Awesome research is happening in the Potato World! Shout out to the Potato Team at OSU’s Hermiston Agricultural Research and Extension Center ( HAREC ). The team helps put on the Hermiston Farm Fair . The Oregon Potato Commission made an appearance at My People's Market on Saturday 9/17 and Sunday 9/18 from 11am to 5pm both days. OPC participated in partnership with Oregon State University Food Innovation Center handing out fresh, locally grown potatoes through a generous donation from Threemile Canyon Farms in Boardman, Oregon .
