A huge thank you to OPC Commissioner Cody Fazio and his familyfor opening up their farm to us on Sauvie Island and being so accommodating. He and his family worked with us to get the right potatoes washed, identify participating families and set the stage. Who else in Portland would have storage doors they could open up to film tables of kids and parents paining potatoes with 6 million pounds of spuds as a back drop?!?

Michelle Markesteyn, OSU College of Agriculture and Extension, one of the foremost Farm to School scholars and action makers in the country, helped take the end product from an 8 to a 10 with her keen eye for presentation and what best conveys the connected messages of food, health, family, farming and Spring. She also suggested using one of the most noted farm and food photographers in Oregon, Shawn Linehan. Check out the beautiful gallery of photos she provided us below. Some of the images are stunning.

Finally, we could not have pulled this off in the short turnaround time with had without OPC’s Marcy Parker. She even roped in her sister! I’ve always said there are a hundred touch points behind any quarterly meeting or event we do and it’s the team that makes it happen. Thank you Marcy!
